4M Publications offers friendly, inexpensive, jargon free and easily digested training material for all workers with people, whether they be carers, administrators, doctors, nurses, workers in health and social care, prisons, mental health, forensic social services, probation services, church organisations, teaching, youth services and youth justice services.
The inspiration for our books came from our experience as trainers which showed that there are many sound text books on communication and groupwork, but that workers and students usually only read them for their academic assignments. Also, we found that academic texts tend to be off-putting for a whole range of essential workers, and that their practice could be enhanced and made more satisfying by looking at other writers' work or experience which is offered in a more accessible way. We combine a strong theory and research base with a light-hearted proven approach.
