Every encounter is important
• The person you are seeing may be one of many for you today but
for that person this meeting might be crucial - and you may not
be aware of that.
• Try to treat each person as the only one you are seeing today and
give them your full attention. They will then feel that they have
been taken seriously and heard.
• Remember:
-they may have travelled quite a way at considerable
inconvenience to see you.
- they may have incurred expense which they may not
really have been able to afford, such as train or bus fares.
- they may need to get somewhere else on time.
• The more crucial the meeting is for them, and the more worried
they are about the outcome, the more anxious they may be.
Make sure you mind and they matter
